How to Create and Publish Posts on Your GforGov Website

Posting public notices, news updates, and announcements to your website is quick and simple. With GforGov's automated categorization and built-in expiration dates, you can publish content once and keep your website organized without manual cleanup.

Follow these steps to publish a new post.

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1: Start a New Post

  1. Log into your GforGov Dashboard.

  2. Navigate to Posts in the left menu.

  3. Click Add New.

Step 2: Add Title and Content

  1. Enter Title: Type a clear, descriptive title in the title field at the top of the editor.

  2. Add Body Content: Enter your announcement details, instructions, or images directly into the main text editor section.

Step 3: Select Categories (Automated Placement)

On the right sidebar, select the appropriate Categories for your post. Categories control where your update appears across your website automatically:

  • News: Displays the update on the homepage news feed.

  • Public Notices: Sends the update directly to the dedicated Public Notices page.

  • Community: Routes the post to community-specific updates pages.

Tip: You only need to publish the post once; selecting multiple categories will automatically feature it in every corresponding section on your site.

Step 4: Set an Expiration Date (Automatic Archiving)

To keep your site current without manual maintenance, set an Expiration Date in the post settings on the right panel.

Once the selected date and time pass, GforGov automatically:

  • Adds an Archive label to the post.

  • Removes the post from internal website search.

  • Removes the post from Google Search results.

This ensures your public records remain organized and outdated notices automatically hide from public view.

Step 5: Publish

When you are ready, click Publish in the top right corner. Your update is immediately live for your residents!
