3 Easy Ways to Add ADA-Compliant Files to Your Website
Publishing accessible documents to your municipal website shouldn't require logging into a complex CMS backend or tagging PDFs manually. With GforGov, adding documents is as simple as saving a file.
Whenever you upload a document using any of these methods, GforGov automatically remediates the file for ADA compliance and indexes it directly to your site—no website login required.
Method 1: Upload Directly from Your Website (Edit Mode)
If you are already browsing your website and want to quickly update a specific page:
Enable Edit Mode on your website.
Locate the GSearch widget on the page where you want the file to appear.
Click the Pencil icon on the widget to open the exact Google Drive folder associated with that page.
Drag and drop your file into the folder.
Note: It may take a few minutes for the newly indexed file to appear live on your site.
Method 2: Upload via Google Drive in Your Browser
If you are working out of Google Workspace in your browser:
Open Google Drive (
drive.google.com).Navigate to your city's Shared Drive.
Open the specific Department Folder where the document belongs.
Drop your file into the folder.
GforGov will process the file for ADA accessibility compliance and make it available to the public.
Note: It may take a few minutes for the newly indexed file to appear live on your site.
Method 3: Save directly via Drive for Desktop
If you use the Google Drive for Desktop app, you don't even need to open a web browser:
Open your computer’s local file explorer (Finder or File Explorer).
Save or drag your document straight into your standard Google Desktop folder, just like any other local file.
GforGov handles the remediation, indexing, and website publishing automatically in the background.
Note: It may take a few minutes for the newly indexed file to appear live on your site.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a separate website login to publish files?
No. As long as you have permissions to add files to your team's designated Google Drive folders, you can publish directly to the site without logging into a website backend.
How does ADA remediation work?
When a file is added to a designated GforGov folder, our system automatically remediates the document for ADA accessibility compliance before indexing it live for the public.
